Tried checking account Visa debit card at South Bay Area store, no luck. Tried paying cash instead and it succeeded.

But again it can be that it's just glitchy if the system accepted cash everywhere it would be more of a problem. I think the fact that in some places it is completely out is very encouraging.

While my vgcs were failing to load, another CSR helped a person load $100 cash on their card. I've also read reports on Reddit that cash still works.

That proves that not the whole RB system is down, just debit card loading.

I wouldn't say it proves it. It is just another piece of strong evidence supporting it. Not looking good. For better or worse I did my mourning last week and have come to terms. Now I'm working to unload about 10K in VGC

It doesn't mean permanently, it just means system is down.

Just tried VGC in NY and system would not allow it. gonna try $20 cash load. It seems like a glitch because debit is still an option on their screen. Cash worked fine.

Nope, chicken little hype posts there. Real fails post here. The sky aint falling until confirmed. I believe its a glitch. Is the other Target Amex product dead too?

two targets i went to both did not work at on Los Angeles yet as apposed to when they got rid of credit card loads no employee seem to be aware of this change yet one worker decided on her own to inform me they NEVER allowed debit gift card to be loaded

My theory- As we all know Target updated their POS system and it has been a little slow and redundant to start with. They are obviously tweaking the software... I think they maybe looking for a way to disallow GC while allowing personal debit although I'm not sure why they would care - AFAIK there are no higher fees related to GC. So hopefully they are just updating system to smoother process while not changing anything else

P.S. @hvaces42 Havent seen Chuck for a while. Dunno if hell be around to diagnose this one
