Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

You don't have to open a new checking account? it links to your current one, just bring a check with you to the store.
no pull needed.
Do you know if the DC works with mint.com?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

it will come directly out of your regular checking account, no need to link it to mint

Good point!

Any benefits of the CC over the DC (besides extra time to pay off your purchases)?

This card is  going to die in May? Will miss 5% off and free shipping. I'd hate to waste a hardpull for Target credit card.

If my sister has the Target credit card, can I be added as AU and have my own online account  for all the shippings to my address?
Where did you see that this card is dying in may?

I think TRAVELWITHGRANT posted recently about this and I also received an email  sometime ago saying the card is ending in May.

On a recent target.com order, I paid for most of the order with a Target egift card purchased from Staples.com (paid for with Ink) and the small remainder with a Target Prepaid REDcard. I got 5% off the whole order, not just the amount paid with the REDcard.

A Target cashier told me the prepaid redcard is going to be discontinued soon, the debit redcard stays.

Pretty sure that came up on the blogs a few weeks ago. Or here on the forums. Or target cashiers are close to totally uninformed and should not be relied upon for anything up to and including my  proper use of a cash register.
