Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Does anyone have success in reloading one at a non-participating store?

Reloading shouldn't be a problem.  Activating is the open question.

Thanks. So it's worthwhile to drive out an hour plus to purchase one, and then reload it at my local target. Cool

Bought a 2nd temp Redcard today.

Added $1,000 to the registered temp card that I bought yesterday (A subsequent $250 load was denied)

Withdrew $400 from the registered temp card from the Target ATM in 2 $200 transactions (original $400 attempt was denied and subsequent $200 attempts were denied)
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I've read on a different forum that you could get a temp by changing the social on the store and then when u get home to register you put correct social.

Just tried picking one up. Charge was denied on my new ink Plus. Happens sometimes with a large charge on a new card. Tried calling chase, after being on hold 25+ minutes I finally just left without it. I was concerned because I had already put in all my personal info.

I'll have to try again tomorrow.

I called the stores in Greensboro, NC, prior to making the 90 min drive to go pick some up. Turns out they have been having technical difficulties processing the RedCards in all the Greensboro area stores since October 5th, and they aren't selling any. Oh well. I guess it's good I called first :)

One of the best things about Chase is the fraud dept texting...not sure if I signed up for it but anytime there's a fraud alert I get a text to text back if it was me and then it immediately clears the fraud alert

Thanks. I'll go see where I can sign up for that. Would have sure saved me a headache today.  I thought signing into the app might give me the option but I was busy on the phone.

I've never signed into the app...really don't know how it got set up but it's very useful, especially since it happens every time I leave the state

I never signed up for it either and got two fraud alerts . Maybe being signed up for telephone , and online purchase alerts triggers it  :)
