Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

I'm not, don't worry, I went into the store and 2.5+
But the question is, where is the 1,000 limit coming from?
Is it going to be the policy soon...?
Probably made up because it's 1000 max per transaction.

Target CS lady once told me max load for Amex for Target is $500.

Never argue. I just tell them that I'm pretty sure it works if they'll try but if they still don't want to do it, smile, say thank-you, and move on.

As always YMMV.

Still don't have a clear idea on the best way to load $200 gift cards on it. Do I have to tell the cashier I want to load ex $1000 but with 5 separate cards? That can draw suspicion. Or can I load it like AFT and just swipe 5 separate cards without the cashier having to do anything before starting the transaction?
I did a test loading a few late when the store was empty. The do have to do something on their end when loading 800 in four uh debit cards. They need to tell it how much to drain each time. I used it as a debit with pin.

Also on one card she mistakenly entered 2.00 instead of 200, and in that transaction I was not able to use the card again for the 198 balance. Had to do a seperate load for that.

Any idea if the cashier has to do something on their end of you process the GC as credit?

So my Massachusetts haul was 4 cards for me and family. Loaded card 1 and 2 with 500. Card 3 and 4 had Amex fraud issue so loaded only $1@. Resolved fraud issue and went to another Target same day and $1 cards would not load any more money. Tried $999 and $499 without success at cashier and at CS. Registered all 4 late last night. 3 of them came back with pending had to call and send Drivers license and utility bill for 2 and Govt ID plus Social Security card for the 3rd one. 4th one registered no problem.
Gonna try 1k reload today.

Was not able to get addl cards for those who asked, but will try again soon.

After initial purchase, the card has to be registered online before being able to load the 1k. Cmiiw

Cashier made it sound like everybody knows that you cant load twice from the same card in one transaction.

You could have said it's a different card. She would not have known...
