Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

they do swipe your license. Not sure if that matters.
As long as u dont use the same ss# they dont care. They scan license as many times as you want. all account info can be changed when you register.

Has anyone else received an error message when trying to register the card online:
"The card number and security code does not match. Please check your information and try again."

I've checked and retyped a few times, they definitely match.

EDIT: Purchased two cards from the same cashier, she scanned my ID twice and I entered the same personal information both times

Confirmed that you can buy more than one in the same store. I bought two with the same person. They scanned ID card but I put in different socials each time.

Make sure you remember the date you made up, because you'll need it to register the card.

I think that when you register the card you can use a completely different name and birthday.

.

That wouldn't make sense. Bc how can you do different socials with different birthdays. Wouldn't they need to match?

You are right, but in order to register you need to enter the card number and the birthday that you gave them when you bought it. After that you can change to whatever you want.

Has anyone else received an error message when trying to register the card online:
"The card number and security code does not match. Please check your information and try again."

I've checked and retyped a few times, they definitely match.

EDIT: Purchased two cards from the same cashier, she scanned my ID twice and I entered the same personal information both times
I had someone pick me up a red card and they loaded it with a penny, when I tried registering the card I got that message, so I called amex and he said that the cashier in target didn't activate the card correctly, and the only way to use the card is to send in the info that the card was activated with, along with the target receipt. I couldn't send in the info because when activating the card he made up the numbers so I'm still waiting to get another card.
