Topic Wiki

Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Didn't people say it isn't smart to load using amex cards because of Cash Advance?

I have Serve card which I love for WM cashier load and the amex offers you get sometimes. I also  drove to WI today and got Redbird. I got 2 using my sister and brother's  info in the Target. I have their BB card and cancel it to order permanent ones. I am trying to keep my serve in my name and use  the REDBIRD I got with my sister's info. Does the name on CC and REDBIRD has to match to load?  Is there reason to  keep Serve if I can have Redbird?

What's the trick here? Can I order a permanent REDBIRD in my sister's name and  can I load my credit cards in my name  to her REDBIRD at target?

Please advice

They don't  act smart & Demand to show this or that like  some of the WM cashiers do when loading right?

I have total of 2 Serve cards. My own & wife's. Used to have my sister's BB but canceled it. Have BB in my niece's name.

I got 4 temporary Redbirds today.  Does Redbird have all the features of Serve card? Can I get Amexoffers on  Redbird like I get with Serve?

Thanks

I've heard of reports of them checking ID, but personally they never checked. I guess it depends on the location

Do you get 5% back on loading with Discover or Citi Dividend card at Target?
Both these  cards offer 5% back at department stores until Dec. When I first buy this at the store and load ,  is it recommended to load with a small amount like $10?
Thanks!
I can load without any CA fees on any cards
IIRC discover clearly states that superstores ie walmart/target are excluded, and I'm pretty sure citi too. Besides most targets that sell even a small amount of groceries are classified as a supermarket IME. So don't get your hopes up too high.....

I got 4 Temporary Redbirds today.  I already have my own Isis Serve & Serve card, wife has her own Isis serve & Serve card. I was using my sister's Bluebird card but I cancelled it 2 months ago and haven't signed up Isis serve or anything else in her name yet. I have my niece's Bluebird card.

I would like to get Permanent Redbirds for myself and wife for Target in store CC load purpose. I would also like to keep at least one Isis serve and Serve card  for Amex sync offers.
So Can I get a permanent Redbird for my sister in her name  but I use it to load my credit card at Target? Does name on  Redbird and Credit card you are using to load have to match?  What would you do in this situation?

when they scan the red to reload, it says check Id, but that is to match it to the cc not the red, as why would they care who's card you load, remember there is a pin to take out cash..
What's your plan for yud shvat?

Makes sense! I thought it works like Serve where you have to match the name on Serve and Credit card to load

Does the original load on the temp card automatically transfer to the permanent one?
