Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

FYI- I posted upthread that the ATM i used in target warned me on screen that there would be a 2.50 fee added. However i chanced it, and I did not get charged. If you get charged, i would just bring the reciept over to CS. They should give you back your $.

can you withdraw  with temporary  card?   The target I went to  had Chase ATM with  max limit  of $400 but I still couldn't  withdraw any amount.

Apparently you can but only once you've registered online for a permanent one.

The ATM in Target store I went to  was Chase ATM. The same ATMs found in Chase banks and some Walgreens. It had Chase Logo. I know cos I am a Chase customer. It says max withdrawal amount is $400. It shows fees too But I tried my Red card as checking, saving, debit and all three options failed. It didn't work there. My Redbird is the temporary one and I loaded $1k.  Before I went to load and to trying to withdraw,I registered it online to order the permanent one. I thought Target stores have the allpoint or whatever  it is that many are talking about? :o

I think that you can only withdraw on that once you have your permanent card.

His seems to be a Chase ATM that was in a Target.
Maybe that's different.

The  Chase ATM  was the only ATM in the target store and what is even worse is that it is installed next to the customer service area where you go to load. Chase Atm withdrawal is fee free only for chase customers with Chase debit Atm card and useless for Redbird  holders

To note: I gave a $0 REDcard to the chocolate booth to give to the first person to mention DDF
at Day Two of Kosherfest. I heard he was happy and he said that he will need to read this thread to learn how to use it.

Was just in target to load
I decided not to do the max load of 1,000 I did odd numbers like 986.. As I used the same card 2ws to load the same card.
Also I asked if I can walk out with unregistered cards they said no,
I guess I'll ask again next time..
But to those that said cant use the same card 2 times, not true...

I registered it online with my siblings DOB & SS, but used my address as my sibling lives in Canada. Now Amex is asking me to upload proof of address but I have none in his name at the address I gave. Can I give them his Canadian address?

Does he have the same last name?
Amex wants a drivers license or something that's his, but wouldn't a family utility bill work?

If you mean me, i never said that you cant use the same card twice. I did say that in splitting a transaction, you cannot use the same debit card twice for the same single load. If they reswipe the redcard, you can do another load with whatever card you want.

As a side note, its much easier to split the transaction using credit than using debit, in my experience.
