Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Tried loading at a Chicago store. PUlled out my wife's CC to load, the rep asked for ID when she needed the last 4 digit. I gave my DL and she says  she wouldn't do it since  my ID and wife's card don't match , fine for me!
I swiped my Club Carlson US bank card for $1k load. The charge got blocked, received fraud alert text. I answered yes and charge still wouldn't go. Called fraud dept, the guy stays on hole while I try second time. The load still wouldn't work. Says will transfer to supervisor. I waited at least 15 mins in store while on phone. I called again and the lady says I should go to a branch. I than left the store. Called  the card company again and spoke to supervisors. I demanded at least 20k points compensation or will cancel my card. I didn't get the 20k points but did get lot of points as compensation for the  whole trouble. I am satisfied! I didn't go back since I spend too much time in store trying to load  and I had to go home.
The US bank club carlson  card has pathetic fraud  system. Even after answering yes on TEXT and on phone with fraud alert rep, Charge still keeps getting blocked.

What was the hold up in the end
THE FIRST FEW FRAUD ALERT REPS JUST BEING AZ**** and didn't know how to do it right or unblock. They even demanded me to go to a US bank branch location to verify. really, at 7 pm at night? One phone rep even asked me if it was a GC purchase, I SAID no! I left the store since the hold for supervisors on phone  was too long.  Got angry and fraustated!Only after leaving the store and being tough, I was able to get fraud alert manager  who promised me this won't happen again and a customer support manager compensated me   thousands  of points. Adter everything is said and done, I got more points than what I would have earned with the load and I still have $1k to load. :)

The lesson to learn is  if using US bank card,CALL AHEAD, OR HAVE  A FRAUD ALERT AGENT on phone  during the first load. Will do that when I try loading with my wife's CC again at a different store. My wife has to stay home to take care of our baby so I have to be pretending to be her when using her card. If they say NO since  my ID & HER CARD WON'T MATCH, I wouldn't argue cos arguing will make it worse for you and others

I might have made a rookie mistake.
I've been buying  Visa Gc's at Staples.com and loading successfully a couple of times. I decided to change it up and buy some from Walmart.com and it seems i bought a Vanilla GC (not reload able and not for atm...)
Q1. Can I use to load at the register as a Debit?
Q2. even though it says to set a pin at first use. Do i just enter any 4 digits and drain the card?
much obliged.

I wouldn't try any visa or MC  gift cards that doesn't have your name.

The ONE  problem with load is they always need the last 4 digit of the card, during that time they  can ask for the card and your DL and see if it matches. You could be told NO since there is no name on the card to match to your DL.

I just checked and the US bank site doesn't allow  online AU request, it shows a print out PDF to be printed and faxed or mailed and asks SS and DOB too.

Glad to hear. So what's with people saying that the CC needs to have your name on it?

I've done it
+1 target has the fastest computers... it takes seconds to complete  (unlike slow wal mart)
