Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Who said anything about vgc. I'm sure he's just swiping his ink cards in $1,000 increments. (or 2X $1,000 and 1X $500).

Does this:
I use as a dc, no id needed
solve / answer this:
I might have made a rookie mistake.
I've been buying  Visa Gc's at Staples.com and loading successfully a couple of times. I decided to change it up and buy some from Walmart.com and it seems i bought a Vanilla GC (not reload able and not for atm...)
Q1. Can I use to load at the register as a Debit?
Q2. even though it says to set a pin at first use. Do i just enter any 4 digits and drain the card?
much obliged.

i dunno - at 6.95 per $200, it's a bit costly. Big picture (forgetting spend bonus) to do 60K a year at 6.95 per $200 would cost you $2,085 and get you 300,000 UR points.Really it's only getting you an extra 240,000 points. Paying 0.87 cents per point. I guess that's worth it.

Actually $1464.15. The 1% rebate is also on the value of the card.

If you find the $200 visas in an actual staples, it's only 5.95, making an even better ratio

When doing vgc can you do 5 for a 1k purchase like cvs used to allow for vr or does it have to be separate transactions ? This may have been mentioned upthread, but tapatalk search function is not the best
