Topic Wiki

Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

is Amex ok to load from Online?

And withdrawing to a bank of america account ok?
No,  only debit cards with your name can be loaded online. No different than bb and serve

I didn't have a chance to read all 74 pages of this thread.
although i read quite a bit, I am still quite lost here.
Where d you buy the card if you live in ny and the local targets dont have these?
how do you load these and how do you pay the cc bill?
is it only worth using this card with ink cards?
what about for meeting send thresholds.
Thanks in advance.

Your friend in a targeted area buys it for you. He'll need his name and social, but you can then register it in your name and social.  One way to get a friend to pick one up for you is if he already did:  http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=45909.100
You load these at Target directly with a cc.  No GCs needed.  (If you do use a debit card of any sort, please press 'debit' and use your pin.  This cost Target less than cc fees.)
This card has 'bill pay' the same as Serve and BB.  YOu pay your bills with the funds on line.
This card also allows ATM withdrawals up to certain limits.  Fee-free at certain Target ATMs.

You got it. Someone needs to figure out how to have the Wiki automatically show when you try to post in this (and certain other) threads.

...currently less than 10% there in regard to thread pages. This may be a safer system, overall. And limited multi-state roll out will hopefully keep it alive longer....

I added a summary to the beginning of the wiki.
I think the whole wiki needs to be cleaned up.

If nobody gets to it, I'll see if I have some time tomorrow.

why would I use a debit card? I applied 4 a cc to meet spend on. Where does a debit card and pin come in to the picture?

if your loading with a gc
most like you will be refused to load with GC at many stores cos they check the card and DL and since the GC has no name to match to the DL. Don't just show DL or any ID until they ask for it.

You will talk back to the rep, the rep will call his or her supervisors, they will tell you no and ask you to leave.
