Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

if you're looking for a crisis go to walmart
Closest walmart to bk is 45 min. And target is 10 min

so i won :) the redcard from the ddsch, (thanks dan great job). i went to register it on line, and it tells me the card numbers dont match, checked three times to no avail. i put my DOB i just thinking that i might have to put the DOB that was put in when purchased.
do i have to put money on the card in-store before i register online?

i called up and the Indian lady tells me i have to fax in a whole list of stuff.
Someone up thread had the same issue, and when they went into the store, they couldn't 'buy' it as it was already compromised..
The question is, why didn't Dan give you instructions how to register..
What's your plan for yud shvat?

do you think you can put under 18 ssn on the card
Can I sign up my kid for his/her own REDbird account?

Are they 18 or older?  If not, you can only setup a subaccount for them.
Can I register online with a fake SSN?

No (I tried it)

Does anyone have experience loading a permanent RedBird with a temporary RedBird?

It can't be done online, can it?  Can it even be done in store?

(I bought two too many temporary RedBirds, and yes I know many of you would happily take them off my hands, but I want to empty them first -- please don't PM me, as I already have plans for the cards once I empty them.)

Thank you.

For starters it sounds like you can't even register them online, so I don't think you can get any money off them until you register them.

Whoever you're passing them to should pay you for the loaded amount.

PSA: Regarding the redbird email from target/amex last night.
They are offering to open sub-accounts and get cards for family members.
These cards aren't loadable and the Parent Account does not receive an increase in Loadable $ allowed.
I HUCA'd a couple of times, No more then 100k/year Total  - 50k/Year 'Cash' Load.

Can you make the initial registration on a temp card in Nj?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.
