Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Again, unless they change the system of how its loaded, it shouldn't charge as Cash advance,
As on the receipt it says miscellaneous charge, so that's all that the cc company gets, and therefore they only will charge it as a regular target transaction,
Especially if you load say 986.96 instead of 1,000 it won't raise flags..

my wife has to meet $2k spend req on her Amex Everyday card. Got approved and activated the card 2 days ago . She was hit with FR 2 yrs ago and closed her SPG cards. Tried to apply last year but got hit with FR before she got approved.

I think FR is guaranteed if it is $500 or more Redbird load? If she gets hit with FR again, does she have to pay $57 something to send the tax docs and will take weeks to reopen her card?

Thanks

The picture isn't showing up but that sounds like the Amex for Target card.

Anyone try changing their address after being asked for proof of address?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

You have to first "buy" it in the store as I do not believe these cards were initially activated at the store.  That being said, you may now have a problem "buying" it since you attempted to register it online first.  Perhaps you should have just taken the UA amenity kit instead.   :)
shoot!
I made the mistake of trying to activate it online without actually "buying" it
How can I fix this mistake?
I guess i'll just fax in the docs and hope for the best...

It was FR for $1k plus at office store. I was using my SPG card i got approved a month ago that time.

Before this, I had the Amex simply cash card for 5 yrs and used it heavily for gas and phone bills.

my wife has to meet $2k spend req on her Amex Everyday card. Got approved and activated the card 2 days ago . She was hit with FR 2 yrs ago and closed her SPG cards. Tried to apply last year but got hit with FR before she got approved.

I don't know how many small amounts to finish the $2k spend req.

Can anyone answer the  things Amex needs when they suspend your account  due to FR?

Is it the same thing? pay $57  for IRS Tax record, fax to Amex and  wait? Takes around 2 to 3 weeks? >:(

Once they reopen, do you get hit with FR again for charges they say abnormal?
Thanks

I was FRed a few months ago. I didn't have to pay anything - just fax them a form allowing them to look at my tax returns. The whole thing took about 2 weeks, maybe a bit more.

But it may not always be the same.

If you're going to do stuff that may risk an FR, you might want to wait until next week.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

thanks for the info. Would be nice to not have to pay $57 plus for tax docs to be sent to Amex.
Did you have any trouble using the card on bigger purchases after the FR was completed?
