Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

It may not be inventoried, but if they are telling you that you can't take it, or can't take more than one, please just say thanks any way and walk out.  Don't take a chance you'll ruin it for others.

Sorry, I wasn't clear and didn't mean to be accusational.  I think asking is great.  I just meant, to quote the BlueBird wiki, DO take "no" for an answer, and just say thanks anyway, and walk out.

If I'm loading $5k a month on to my RedCard, and withdrawing that money and then depositing it into my checking account, isn't that asking for an IRS audit? 60k a year in cash coming into my account?

No. Banks only report due to money laundering.
Also, this has been discussed at least twice upthread and in comments on DDMS. SIYF

I want to know how you're cashing out more than the allowed 2k per month? That's 24k not 60.

He said cash. Transferring money and depositing cash into your account are a wee bit different. Doesn't all churn require depositing money in your account at some point? Am i missing something?

There's been quite some talk up thread about people activating online and subsequently not being able to 'buy' it in store. I dont see though any clear instructions of what to do i.e. how to.activate it in a store that.does not carry them?
(I live in Brooklyn)
of course I have to wait till Sunday to close my BB...

So unlike Bluebird the Target card CAN'T be used to take money out of ATM's while traveling abroad?
