Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

So my Rosh Chodesh load @ Gateway Target off Erskine St. went as follows:
One CSE pawns me off on the other. The second gives me a look and asks why 3 transactions. After daring her (nicely) to try a larger transaction she follows through and does $2,500 total load on one card. Give her the second card and she walks off looking for a manager. Was overly nice when she returned after 10 minute stroll around the store. She said she could only load up to $5k total or "the system would boot me". Asked if it was a new policy and she said no, "very old policy". I said thank you and loaded the three remaining cards with my remaining $2,500 and left. All cards loaded with either Amex PRG, SPG and small Delta load.

Takeaway: YMMV with load amount, but cc load still operational.
im so jealous... how do you get more than 1 redcard? your brother/sister/mother/father/dog/cat?

Had an issue last week setting up payees. Then it resolved itself. Try incognito. Reports upthread that it helped.

Any way to split the payment when loading this card to make the $200 cards easier to load (like with bluebird)? Or does each card have to be a new transaction?
You ever try splitting or did it have to be separate transactions?

Never tried, but my understanding was that when you process as credit the system will always run the card to empty automatically. Then just swipe the next.
Maybe someone else can chime in on this.

When you use as credit it is much smoother. Less input needed from cashier. When you run it as debit with pin, they need to enter how much on their side before you swipe. As reported upthread.

Are you saying, if I'm loading from gc running as credit, I can just say load 1000 And swipe a $200 gc without telling them anything?

I showed them the cards. No big deal, no secret, thell see in a minute. . They were surprised that gift cards worked. I tried to explain and show that they were debit cards. IIRC they only needed to enter the last four on their end on only o e card, cmiiw.

Sounds like it. And your still gotta do the other 800. In the cvs vr days I would do that using 200 dollar vgc. Swipe one after another after another
