Square Up is now offering to process $1,000 in credit card sales without fees (both swiped and key-ed in transaction fees will be waived)  for new Square customers.
You will receive free processing on up to $1,000 (total, not per month)in credit card transactions for the first 180 days. Afterwards, you pay the standard 2.75% per swipe for all major credit cards. 3.5% + $0.15 for manually entered transactions.

Did you finally find any app that is showing you are in USA?

Do you have an idea if there is anything similar for desktop?

Do you have an idea if there is anything similar for desktop?
If you have an android phone and you're rooted, you can use XPrivacy to spoof your location.
On a desktop you can try a VPN.

I got the boot. Email says this:

If I swipe an AU card on which I am the primary cardholder, does anyone know whether square will recognize it as belonging to the AU or the primary cardholder?

Wondering whether it's safe to swipe my wife's AU card on my  square account if I am the primary cardholder.

It's Barclay arrival and AUs have their own card number.
Bump. Has anyone had experience with this?

So, when you swipe a gift card, I assume to use it as a cc, but whose name do I put on it?  Does it not prompt for that info?

For the record, I've been manually entering 3 x 200 vgc per day for about 3 days.
I got the same email for making 2 transactions. First was 949 second one I made was for 962.95 and on that transaction I got the email. :-(

Just got my Square reader - at last. 
Are each / either  of these a safe swipe? 
I am the Square registered account holder.
1)  CC of my spouse with same last name, living at the same address.
2) My  cc account.  AU has different cc #. Can I swipe my AU card?

If you're gonna do that, at least wait until 7:30 EST since the cutoff is 8:00 to have your money deposited by the next day. Don't give them time to think about it.

No reports of clawed back funds after deposits.

Interesting. If it actually works like that. (i.e. if they actually are just like, "oh man, let's rush this deposit through!")
At 7:30 EST, I can swipe it, so at least that's one level safer. Thinking about charging $1200. Seems like no one's done close to that amount and posted about it, but I'm not in the mood to split this up into so many days. Plus, there are clear reports of people being shut down even when doing random amounts.

I have swiped more than 1300 in one shot but that was after swiping numerous smaller charges on the same card. First swipe was 180. Then a few 500-800 then 1300. BH account still up and running so far (although I just ran out of free swipes for now)
