River Crusing
« on: October 08, 2014, 02:52:59 PM »
Has anyone been on a river cruise in Europe or Aisia? Does anyone know what the Halacha is when on a cruise?

I would love to take a river cruise, specifically with Viking.

Thanks.

I took a "slow" boat  on the Mekong River from Luang Prabang, Laos to Thailand, it was 2 days.

I would assume he is probably referring to cruising on shabbos. If the cruise is operated by non-Jews and mostly non-Jews on the boat, and you don't get off the boat at all on shabbos, there shouldn't be a problem, though ask your LOR.

Yup that is what I'm referring to. The shortest itineraries average 5 - 8 days.

Thanks.
