Okay, so I went back to check. For a standard day's davening, ה' ימלך wins for Ashkenaz.

ה' ימלך
  • יהי כבוד
  • אז ישיר x2
  • ברכת קר"ש x2
  • ובא לציון
  • עלינו x3

ה' הושיעה
  • קטרת x3
  • הודו
  • יהי כבוד

Even if you add 1 to ה' הושיעה for תחנון on Mon and Thur, it's not particyularly close. But obviously, as you said, for nusach sefard ה' הושיעה wins handily (an extra ג"פ 3's, and once in each תחנון).

If you don't care why would you comment?

Someone wants to buy an item that costs $100. They have three stacking discounts of 20%,5% and 10% - for a total of 35% off.  They add the items to their cart, they apply the discounts, but instead of the expected price of $65 their total comes out to be $68.40 before any taxes or shipping charges. They called the support line and are told the calculation is accurate - what happened?

A friend of theirs had two stacking discounts - of 25% and 10%, and got a different price - also not $65, but not $68.40 - what was their price?

Anybody familiar with the hat riddle?

https://ed.ted.com/lessons/can-you-solve-the-prisoner-hat-riddle-alex-gendler

Watched the question and this is what I came up with, will watch the answer now-

Person in the back will never guess his own hat color so instead he sets everyone else up. He will say the color that has even amount of hats among the 9.

Since their are 9 people ahead of him, there can’t be an even distribution of black and white hats among those 9. For example if there are 6 black and 3 white, the person in the back can say Black to signal that black is even. Or there are 4 white and 5 black, he will say White. If he says Black, now the person in front of him can either see that a) there are in fact an even number of black hats, and therefore his hat must be white, or b) there are odd number of black hats, meaning his hat is black.

Now, if 2nd person says black, he is able to guess right while also signaling to the 3rd person that there are odd amount of black hats, and he can easily guess his color as well. And so on until they all get saved from these evil aliens.

There are 21 prisoners, the guards announce the following.

They will randomly select a prisoner, and bring him into a room.

There is a broken clock in the room, the prisoner must change the time when he is brought in. He can do nothing else in the room.

They do not know the starting position of the clock hands.

This will repeat indefinitely, until one prisoner will declare that all of the prisoners have been in the room at least once.

If this is true they are released, if not they are executed.

What do the prisoners do?
120 characters? Hmm, I wonder what I could write with 64 characters. Boy, it's gonna be hard to use up 15 characters. W-

This riddle is missing info because it’s too easy to solve. If the prisoners can discuss with each other and know that there are 21 prisoners, they can just set the clock at 1:01 for the first, next guy moves it to 1:02, until clock hits 1:21.

Nice, now the question is how to answer the riddle when there's 3 hat colors.

Not if they don't know what the clock said. Maybe it started at 121 and he's the first?

Sorry.

The prisoners can discuss before they are split up, they know there are 21 of them.

The prison guards pick randomly each time, they may pick the same guy 10 times before another guy is picked once.

Each time a prisoner comes in they must change the clock even if they have already been there.

There is no set amount of time between the guards choosing one prisoner and the next.

Why is this relevant? Does the clock move at all by itself? The term broken clock is a bit vague.
If you don't care why would you comment?

They do the same thing and if the is already on 101 for the first guy he moves only the hour to 201. The same for anyone going a second time. They move the hour without changing the minute.
