I thought the solution was that there's 2 boxes inside a larger box. That technically is a solution but not the one you have.

Since the boxes are wrongly labeled, find the box that says "both". If you pick out an apple, you know there's only an apple and nothing else. And the other 2 boxes are also wrongly labeled, so each one is easy to identify, the box that says orange has both and the box that says apple will be orange. And vice versa if the "both" box had an orange.
