Someone's mother has four sons.

North, South and East.

What is the name of the fourth son.
Aren't Riddles supposed to have a question?

This works better verbally.

Yes.

It's actually What.

Aren't Riddles supposed to have a question?

No question mark means the last sentence is a statement, not a question. That leaves us with 5 possible names, but the only grammatically/logically correct possibility is that What is the 4th son. Also "Someone" can be the name of the daughter.

On second thought, the correct answer is:

Someone
North
South and East
What

Thanks to the oxford comma.

Was thinking that - but the sentence isn't correct at all if read without the Oxford comma.

Why not?
Don't you need a connector if there's more than 1 subject in a sentence?

"There are 2 colors in the picture. Black, white."

"There are 2 colors in the picture. Black, white."

When listing 3+ items you are supposed to use the oxford comma, when listing 2 items you don't. But when listing 2 with an "and", you should use it. (Above my pay grade but Google is my friend).

Quote
A Comma with Two List Items
The whole world agrees that when there are two single-word items in a list, there is no need to use a comma before the "and" (called a coordinating conjunction). For example:
Bacon and eggs
However, when the list items are longer (NB: We're still talking about two list items at this stage) and especially when they include the word "and," there is a debate on whether you should use a comma. In other words, which version below should we write?
The Bakerloo line runs between Harrow and Wealdstone and Elephant and Castle.
The Bakerloo line runs between Harrow and Wealdstone, and Elephant and Castle.
In situations like these, use a comma before the "and" if it eliminates ambiguity or simply helps your reader to spot the list items more easily. Therefore, the second version above is the most appropriate.

IMO, you can answer. People read the thread in order. They understand that someone may have posted the answer, so they don't continue scrolling until they want to.

It looks like an airplane treadmill. Can an airplane take off like that?

No

The plane will be completely stationary because treadmill and wheels cancel out each other

I thought I had the answer then I watched the myth buster guy explain the answer. I got it wrong for the exact reason he said.
