Topic Wiki

The main benefit you get is lounge access, a steal for $100 USD P.A - I bought a year off superultimate and I have enjoyed using it ever since.

Benefits
American Express Centurion Lounge Benefits | Unlimited Entry + 1 Guest
Lufthansa Business Lounge Access or Senator Lounge Access when flying in Business | Unlimited Entry No Guest
Delta SkyClub Access when flying on Delta | Unlimited Entry No Guest
Virgin Australia Business Lounge Access (Even for US cards, Australian ID though) | Unlimited Entry No Guest
Priority Pass Select | Unlimited Entry + 2 Guests for lounge access globally

Risks
You will need to lodge some personal information to the seller, in this case superultimate has been fantastic and would trust him going forward
You will need to submit your SSN BUT to American Express, not to the seller. If you dont have an SSN, a passport will do just fine, even if it isnt US issued (I used my AU passport)

How it is done
Assuming that you meet the requirements for becoming an Authorized User, the seller will send a request to American Express. You will need to call them to finalize the ID verification but apart from that its all taken care of from superultimate. You will receive the card to your home address, or you can have superultimate forward the card internationally through UPS.

After that, you will be given a log in into American Express, feel free to register for Priority Pass and when you receive both cards, its all done.

Do you mean three?

I thought it was four free additionals, so yes, I guess three @ $50 or more each would do.

would the card work for lounges although it was never activated or only if it was activated (even if cancelled)?

Why does that matter? Just activate it then cancel it.

don't forget there's another $175 fee for adding up to 3 additional users, that means $50 apiece won't even cover what you have to pay to get them cards, let alone help cover the annual fee.   not sure where the sense in that is.

So here is what I had in mind:
1 guy (say Mr. Platinum) applies for the card with 3 additional cards under Mr. A, Mr. B, and Mr. C.
Once approved and the cards delivered to Mr. Platinum’s residence, he cancels the additional cards and sends them to Mr. A,B and C for 100$ each.
Mr. A,B and C earns 4 years of lounge access for 25$ a year. Definitely not bad.
After the points post, Mr. Platinum decides whether he wants to keep the card (then he is really Mr. Platinum  :D) or to cancel  it and try to get his annual fee, or some of it back.
Now who’s in?

I wanna be Mr. Platinum (in real life) ;)

Sounds like this could work.

It does not need to be activated.

Wouldn't I get the refund on the $175 when cancelling the card?

regardless only one person will get the "limited time" 50k. why would that be an incentive for your authorized users to quickly get it done?

I did. I got 3 maybe commitments, I guess it's time to apply.

I just wanted confirmation (Dan?) that if I cancel in the first/second bill cycle I'll get a full (or at least prorated) refund.
