There's a modox shul called Sherith Israel with daily minyanim.

on go daven its says this shul is open orthodox.  Does open orthodox necessarily mean its a Rabbi Weiss type of shul? The Rabbi at this shul Sherith Israel there told me that it means open to anyone.

Would you daven there? do you know the exact background and whether its okay to daven there?

I was told that the Rabbi there is an Avi Weiss open-Orthodox talmid. I went there for weekday davening when the Rabbi was out of town and they davened in the beis medrash with no women present. I have a neighbor who said his Rav told him not to daven there, so it's probably best to ask your LOR.

Was recently there. Was going to head there for mincha/maariv. While on my way I saw on godaven that it’s open orthodox. Called my rav. He told me it’s better to daven biyichodus.

The shul is essentially unchanged since Rabbi Posner z"l retired. The only difference I know of is now there's an eruv. It's a standard OOT community in terms of people's frumkeit. Some more, some less. Up to you and your LOR.
