Pre or Post simcha, would love some ideas for a trip in Jan 2023---please help.

BEH, we have a family simcha in NY Jan 15th, we live in Israel and would like to do a family trip for appx a week.
questions are:
since we would be flying out TLV, does it make sense to do the trip before? in theory we can fly out mot"sh Jan7, head to the destination, TBD, and onto NY Jan 13th for shabbat
or after the simcha, which means we fly out from NYC to destination, TBD, monday Jan 16th.
we love outdoors and being active, nature, hiking, water sports, bike riding, zip lining etc....
family of 10, 2 adults and children ages from 11-22, all BH active.
DW would like a warm destination....but doesn't have to be....
i'm lost and not sure where to start.
please please, im open for all ideas/suggestions

looking for anywhere along the way to or from,
can be any part of the world, but should be in direction we flying to, meaning, i don't mind going to Caribbean or central america, as we can go direct to there or on way back from NYC, fly there and than back to israel...
so we are open for anything..

i'll take a look at the 3rd sticky under trip reports. reason i didnt start there is cause i dont know where to go and need some ideas...
