Topic Wiki

-Use VRBO/Airbnb and rent a condo with a private pool

-Try to avoid the larger touristy locations. I.E., when travelling to the Bahamas instead of going to Nassua try a different, more secluded island.

-Try colder destinations (E.G. Canada, Alaska, Mountain areas, etc.)

-Even in warmer areas, non beach destinations are always better (E.G. Arizona, Utah, etc.)

Vancouver, Banff, Scandinavia, Iceland, The Rockies...
And although it is no longer as exotic as it used to be, Niagara Falls can be a nice vacation spot, (hotels, sightseeing, activities/entertainment, shopping, and kosher food) particularly for someone who has never been there...
The winter is also quieter, but is beautiful nonetheless...

Oh. Actually got to trust you  because you were there and i wasn't.

Btw i was reading your posts of Yellowstone and Alaska over and over... off topic but i wanted to ask you

1) which of those 2 destinations would you recommend? (I assume both are Pritsus free).

2) which go pro did you have in Alaska? I'm going November 2 to Arizona sedona and Grand Canyon i want to buy a go pro. Sorry again off topic.

1- Both are amazing and very different. I would say that if you're going with kids then do Yellowstone and the Tetons; it'll be an experience they'll never forget. As a couple I'd probably choose Alaska.

Another way to look at it is that in Wyoming there are more things to SEE, while in Alaska there's are more things to DO. Would you rather do cool things or see cool things? The answer could easily determine which place you'd enjoy more.

2- I had the Hero 3+ Black. At this point I think that the Hero 4 Silver with the built-in LCD is the obvious choice for 99% of people.

It was never exotic, the hotels aren't great, the kosher food is terrible, and it doesn't take more than a few hours to see it all and go on the boat...
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I know you asked SF but it probably depends on how much time you have. For 2-4 days go with Yellowstone, if you have a week+ def go with Alaska.

Absolutely. Not to mention far more time on the ground due to the far shorter flight (especially if you could fly into JAC).

I agree, however, coupling with a Toronto trip can compensate for that/complete a trip.

Lol thanks :D

Yeah, they're difficult to write, but I find its like re-living the trip, plus you have a record for yourself of what you did, when you did, etc.

You might be happy to know that that's the hardest part, once you start writing it usually flows... :)

Now we are getting somewhere.  Your suggestions are great, ty!

Going back to warm places in the bein hazmanim time of summer...are there separate swimming beaches or times (men vs women) anywhere in the world other than in Eretz Yisroel?

Are there any other known secluded beaches where people have been other than Hawaii or the Florida stretch?

If it weren't for ISIS...
I guess the only demand is from Orthodox Jews and Muslims...

In addition to VRBO there are Frum rentals with private homes in North Miami Beach. They are about the same price & in Miami you know you are near Shuls, etc... I went through a guy Mendy Rosenberg from Ultimate management several times. He's been doing it for at least ten years (that was the first time I rented a house with a pool).
If you need his contact info PM me.

check this link out. I think it views better on an iphone than a PC (because of the angle) obviously like it was said, points will not help, but like the theme of the thread, there is something special about having your own private pool...
I stayed by this house this past summer & last December when it was just renovated...
