@ bahayman: you did write
Software Engineer some posts back (on this thread).

Never mind, if an other genius programmer is interested in making a lot of $$$$$ contact me please.

Or if someone is willing to invest money in a project, that's also an option, although I might prefer doing it myself.

99.9% of programmers have been programmed (apparently) only to accept payment by the hour, even if working on the most lucrative idea
Or maybe the programmers just don't think the idea is as hot as you do...

Here we have the team again.

Some programmers, before even saying what's its about to know the different options, are immunized against it.

And whyme, if you really are a programmer, you know I'm right.

That some programmers are immunized? yes.
that 99% are programmed that way no.

Programmers need to feed their families just like anybody else. They can't always work for free.

not for free, if you hear of a nice idea that you could work on it say two hours a day, because you believe it has huge potential, its not called working for free.

True.
but I need to believe it has huge potential, It's not enough that you believe it.

Everybody thinks their idea is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
For me personally, I've been burned before and I'm very selective about what jobs I'll take for future potential.

He probably did. I did and I'm as skeptical as WhyME. It's theoretically a great idea, but from there to the $millions lots of things need to happen.

I don't think we were arguing over his specific idea, it's whether or not
99.9% of programmers have been programmed (apparently) only to accept payment by the hour, even if working on the most lucrative idea, and never to hope on a breakthrough of a program.

It's not that simple, but it is indeed a valuable skill, especially in your field.

I know its not that simple, I also know it would be quite valuable for me. I plan at some point to learn some programming. on that note what would you recommend starting with?

I meant to say that most programmers will never take the risk, and no idea is risk free as amazing as it sounds.

Ive been speaking to giants in the fields, that are successfully selling software of their own, and think its brilliant.

I tried to ask bothers first.

Hard to say. I'm more interested in data than in programming, so I started with Microsoft Access.

If it's such a great idea why don't you just hire a programmer so you can keep all the millions for yourself later?
