They can manually enter the info but AFAIK it is extremely difficult to get more than one form of ID to work.

from all my reading it seems if they enter your address once with the passport and it matches the DL then you are out of luck

it's just meant as a method of an individual's ID to limit to $2K per day instead of people going to 3 cvs locations....

So all this sounds like talking, does anyone have experience using a passport?

That's what they originally told me but apparently it just changed, I was held up for 10 minutes while 3 employees tried to interpret the new paper that they had. It said limit of $1,999 per day, doesn't mean it's hard coded but I haven't tried yet.
Update: no hard limit.

Their paper says $1999 a day, I just did $2k and they didn't even scan my ID, just checked that it matched my CC.

So same as always? Or no more id needed so no limit to 2k per day?

I'm talking about Walgreens, not CVS

Never once in all the times I've been to different stores.

OK then.  They've never scanned an ID.  I thought you were implying they had a new policy or something that I had missed.  I haven't bought there in ages.

They have a new policy about how much you can buy, one store let me do $2k but another was adamant about $500 so it's really YMMV.

That's great they have raised the daily limits as it has been $500 for a while.  The ones that didn't adhere to this limit would get scolded by corporate eventually as they did/do track purchases via CC #'s.

You just have to get them to actually check their papers because I don't think all of them know.

Ok, I'll ask the stupid question. What's the benefit here for adding funds to a Vanilla gift card? I assume that's what everyone is talking about. Is there a card that gives 5x points for drug stores? Is there some way to cash out without simply spending the money?
