If you just make the change and force it on people, they'll just complain about how the old one was so much better, instead you gotta make it limited availability and by invite only and everyone is falling all over themselves trying to get in on it

Yep. A friend at google gave me an account even before beta and I sold invites on eBay for $300 each.

What happens to the emails that I mark as Done? In Inbox, I can get to them. Do they move anywhere out of my actual inbox (in the old inbox aka regular gmail)?

Why can't I send an invitation?

Edit: Found on the google forum posted on Oct 22 "Quick note: if you received an invite from a friend today, your 3 invites to share won't be available until this Friday"

I got an invite directly from google, and I still can't invite anyone.
