Apple Pay
« on: October 22, 2014, 04:49:29 PM »
As an iPhone user I was happy that I would be able to carry fewer cards in my wallet while still being able to pay at most places. As I've started loading my cards into Apple Pay I noticed that there is a non-publicized 8 card limit. It simply won't allow you to add another card after you get to 8. For now I still have seen nothing about this in any of Apple's own documentation.
For those of us in the points and miles world who actually use multiple cards in order to earn points in various categories, it is quite common to have more than 8 cards that you actually use in a given month.

Has anyone else had this experience?
While I do think that the convenience of contactless payment is great, and Apple getting into this game will only serve to help all the other players (softcard and google wallet), I am disappointed in this particular "feature". Hopefully they will remove the limit or at least explain why it is in place at all.

What do you all think?

Its new, possibly just a temporary technical limitation

First week that I don't get weird looks when using Google wallet. Though everyone keeps asking to see my iPhone. ::)

I have to imagine they're going to reverse their actions eventually. So silly IMO.

Looks like Apple is taking loyalty rewards to a whole new level...

"Say you’re in a Duane Reade, hypothetically. You get a push notification from Pepsi that they’ve worked out a deal with Duane Reade that you can get a free case of Pepsi. Just pick it up and use Apple Pay at the counter."
