Which brand is cheapest and what's the best way to buy? Amazon? Grocery stores, coupons etc.

Make your own? Cook veggie until soft.  Blend very well in blender until smooth.
This baby food stage doesn't last that long anyway.  You'll be giving him (her?) real food before you know it.

Rarely you can get 3/99 cents in A and P. Check the circulars weekly
