Booking 2 seats for one passenger
« on: October 29, 2014, 09:09:15 PM »
Is it possible to use miles to book 2 seats for one passenger?  Specifically FlyingBlue.  I called and was told no, not with miles only with purchased ticket, but wondering if anyone knows otherwise, or a way around it.

Can I book it in someone else's name, and still keep the seat?

If you book it in someone else's name what's to stop the airline from putting a 3rd person there ?

airlines take in account for no shows, so if its a full flight, they might fill it anyhow....

Yes, but if you tell them you bought two for yourself then they have no right to put someone else there.

Can't they decide to put your 2nd seat a few rows away from your 1st ?

Yes, but you can also call or choose seats together online. If I would buy two seats then by all means I am going to have both seats.

They've changed my seat around (online) the day of the flight. Someone bought his ticket last minute & they put my seat# on his ticket.

HUCA'd.  Said it can be done, but they don't know how, and will call me back.  Hopefully, they will.

Say you are extremely obese and wont fit in one seat. They will sell you another seat gladly

It's already happened (probably more than once) that the 2nd seat was across the aisle.  :)

I know they will SELL me one.  I want to book with miles, though.
