I don't know if it has anything to do with that (could just be routine weekend maintenance), but that is insane!

It definitely explains this.

still down. how long ago did the downage start? for some reason it's only for searching partners. are they trying to shut that down? or is it just part of the weather thing?

Does this have anything to do with the changes to fuel surcharge policies?

Thanks for the update, Mike. It's great to see you here on DD.

Are they now charging fuel surcharges on all those flights that they weren't charging them on before it went down? (I mean those that had fuel surcharges on the phone but not the site)

FYI, BA.com has some new updates and one very useful update is that you can see the $ amount required for taxes even if you dont have enough miles in the account, I dont believe you were able to see this in the past.
Just do a dummy booking and at the final page it will stop you that you dont have enough miles but you will see the amount of miles needed and taxes.

When do you get that error message?
I am able to search partner availability and check the subtotal page before booking.

there are certain routes that you're not supposed to be the fuel taxes/surcharge on aa metal, even with the new guidelines(like domestic us, or us to carribbean).   so if you call them up and they quote you the high fee, tell them you think its a mistake for this route and have them ask "upstairs" to verify it.   they should take it off.   (unless it's a route that legitimately has to pay the surcharge)

after the subtotal, traveler info, payment info. when it's doing the actual booking.

this is US-S. America. i understand the new guidelines charge fuel surcharges on AA metal for this route?
