Depends on the type of job, and level of responsibility. Minimum is usually 2 weeks, but for many levels of responsibility, 4 weeks or more is expected.

In my industry, ur expected to give notice that is at least equal to the amount of paid vacation time one gets annually. In absence of that, 2 weeks should be fine, unless ur in a upper management position.
