i love the places that pay with potential.
I used to work for one so ended up without pay and without potential :)

I remember reading something very insightful on this topic online, now I can't find it. It went something like this (heavily paraphrased):

Once you've made an impression on the interviewer that you're the right person for the job, they have every incentive to make you happy now so you accept the position. If they're unwilling (or unable) to make you happy now, it's unlikely they're going to make you happy any time in the future.

I remember sitting at 2nd an interview with a manager of a business, and he kept telling me that the terms (hours/salary/expectations) they would start me at would get better over time. He really couldn't convince me of it though.

My wife works for Aon Hewitt... Check into it....

Interesting, I worked for a guy who did a lot of business with a company that was bought out by Aon just before I left. I got the impression it was a mismanaged conglomerate.

Hurts to email them? Perhaps part-time is an option? Perhaps they're paying a ton with great benefits? (Ya I doubt the second one, too.)

That's an excellent point. I bend over backwards for potential hires that I am interested in.
