A well-established Low Voltage firm in NYC is looking to hire an experienced Low Voltage/Cable Technician to join our team.
Job responsibilities
• Install and terminate Category 5e and 6 cables, Coax, Alarm and A/V cabling in commercial/residential environments.
• Mount surface mount boxes and face plates.
• Test and troubleshoot connection issues.
• Follows company installation policies and procedures in compliance with project mandates.
• Properly operates and maintains tools and equipment.
• Performs quality work within assigned deadlines.
• Able to read and understand floor plans to properly execute project plans.
• Prepare and maintains time logs, reports and other related documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor to meet project goals and objectives.
Requirements
• 2+ years experience in structured cabling.
• Familiarity and understanding of TIA/EIA 568 standards for CAT5e, CAT6, RJ-45 configurations
• Must be proficient and have work experience in terminating CAT5e & CAT6 at patch panels, face plates in small to large scale projects.
• Ability to use basic cable installation tools and hand tools.
• Good physical condition in accordance with company policy to enable crawling, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, and working with general hand tools.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to pass a thorough background and drug screen.
• Ability to work independently and ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
• Punctual, regular and consistent attendance record.
• Reliable, honest and professional with good references.
