Remember that you need a visa prior to arrival. They do not issue them in the airport anymore.

A business class ticket JFK-TLV is only 23,450 Azal miles.

Seems like they're partners with Air France.

So... I sent someone with J2 this past Sunday night TLV-JFK on their "brand new 787". According to the feedback I got from him, he told the crew after the flight "moichel toivos! You can give us back the A340."
Basically they now added F class and their very proud about it. He said that the business class seats are not lie-flat anymore, and flying on a 12hr 55min flight from Baku to JFK, he told me that his back was still hurting him 2 days later.
The price for business hasn't changed though. It was $958 o/w until today TLV-JFK (and a little less the other way around) They just added F class for about $450 more. Although he did tell me that F looked very good, they must've felt that they need to downgrade J in order to accomplish that. No more lounge on board like they used to. He told me that he felt like he was being treated more economy-like than business-like. (and there were only 3 passengers in the entire business class!)
According to pics that Azerbaijan released from the 787, they show J to be a 2-2-2 configuration, while on the seat map it shows a 2-3-2 configuration.
It was so bad that he actually asked me to book him LY J for the return to Israel. (Hey, at least that's "bed-like" ;))

It doesn't seem possible via OTA's (I just checked) because GYD-TLV only has business. So automatically, if you search first, then you don't get any results for Azal airlines. You can book it by any travel agent. (you can PM me if you want. I'm also a TA ;))

I booked tickets on Azerbaijan Airlines for JFK to TLV (through Baku - GYD) and I had a few questions.

I'd appreciate if anyone can answer with updated information.

1 - Is there Kosher food on both legs of the flight or only one?
2 - Which Hechsher?
3 - How is it possible that the flight from JFK to Baku is 9.5 hours, yet from Baku to JFK it's 13.5 hours? (Moscow to JFK is 9.5 hours.)
4 - On Fareboom (where I booked the ticket), it says one piece of luggage, yet in the itinerary I received by email it says two pieces. Which is correct?
5 - Do I need a visa? My stopover is only about two hours.

By the way, the ticket was around $670 for August!
