Saver/Standard Question
« on: December 20, 2010, 02:01:57 PM »
I used to think that (for example) CO only had access to their partners saver availability, because it seemed you could only get them to confirm you if the flight had the lower mileage available. But I see on CO.com examples of LH flights with both Saver and Stard possibilities. What's the trick to know if a carrier has access to everything on their partners or only saver?

(For example, can A"A book me on Elal in a higher mileage class?)

Thanks
-Eli

Ye, I also noticed that on CO. Not sure how that works.

But AA definitely doesn't have access to ElAl's higher mileage class.

Sample date/route of only standard availability?

I meant that they are offering standard awards sometimes (not necessarily ONLY) - and I thought airlines only have access to their partners' Saver availability.

They do, but if you're silly enough to pay standard when saver is avaialble I'm sure they'll take it.
Let me know if you find only standard on a flight with no CO segs as that would be interesting.

But just the fact that they show it means that they have access to that inventory..which technically means if I was in a bind an needed to book a RT EWR-TLV flight, I might do EWR-TLV on CO for 57,500 and TLV-FRA-NYC on LH for 150,000 - if it was possible. Which is my question.

Or it means they're just happy to charge some fool 2x for Saver avaialbility.
Unless you can find standard without saver it's meaningless.
