Is there a way to search for the cheapest non-basic flight anywhere so I can exchange my expiring TB funds to FFC?

Just got this email from United, huuuuuuge news!!

"You can now gift TravelBank cash to friends and family. we’re making it easy to give the gift of travel this holiday season. Our newest feature allows you to gift TravelBank cash to friends or family — all you need is their MileagePlus® number and last name"

This is an absolute gamechanger making United Travel Bank way more valuable. You can now "gift" (sell :)) Travel Bank to another MileagePlus member!

The day is short but the work aplenty

How else would you interpret it?

It just means you can buy new TravelBank for other people. Not that you can transfer existing TravelBank to another member.

That's how I'm reading it.
People have been sending me and posting comments about the @doctorofcredit post, but I don't think they can be gifted from account to account.

That would’ve always worked. Unless you don’t want to share your CC details

not sure i understand how to do this but i have $25 travel bank expiring. if i add to a res, i can only pay bal with cc. if its eligible for refund, whether within 24 hours or a fully refundable fare, where will the $25 travel bank funds go (back) to (travel bank or travel credit) and what happens to balance paid with cc?
i also have $100 amex credit i would buy some more travel bank if i can get future travel credit that doesnt expire

I think if you buy a ticket (not basic economy) with the travel bank and then cancel it after 24 hours it will go into a travel credit.
