I've booked that route AF J, with DL for 70k.

A little more points, but a fraction of the YQ.

I have never done this before, but i am exploring the possibility of going from NYC (jfk, ewr, lga) to florida( FLL,mia)
leaving my 2 kids at the airport with there grandparents, and then continue on to the grand cayman islands just  my wife and I.. on the way home from grand cayman, stop in fll or mia get my two kids and then back to NY...
How do i do this? my kids r young 6 years old so i would have to leave the terminal each time to drop them off as well as get them..how do i even start pricing this w the miles? any help greatly appreciated..
dates are nov 24-nov 28

You're gonna have trouble finding mileage flights if this is over Thanksgiving.  In general though search for your kids just RT NY-FL and for yourself NY to the Caymans via Florida (you won't pay more since it's just a few hour stopover)

NYC-FCO nonstop in Y using UR?

Please correct me if I'm wrong:

Flying AZ with either KE or AF means 25K a lot of YQ.
Flying DL with either KE or AF is 25K and $5.60.
Flying AA with BA is 25K and $5.60.
Flying UA with SQ is 27.5K and $5.60.

Thanks. I thought BA was only $5.60 on AA metal, but maybe that's just Western Hemisphere flights?
