tell them you would love to book online but it doesn't give you the option so they should wave the fee

Wondering about the ideal ff program for award booking  for NY to VCE returning from London, in Business class, have plenty of amex and Chase, which FF program would offer the best redemption? Thanks for any input

What airline are you seeing?

If LH or LX, it's possibly phantom availability.

They're all pretty standard. Try to find availability and use chase for united.

JFK-JNB Via Eithad? (I prefer not to use SPG, cause transfer to Asiana takes forever)
Eithad is showing saver on their website:
 JFK-AUH "F"
AUh-JNB "J" However they wont let me book as one and crazy amount of miles if booked separately, Any ideas??

(AA on the phone is quoting me as 170K miles which appears excessive)

A few hours. I don't need the Stopover, however its the only "f"  availability I can find.
If booked as 2 separate I can book it direct on Eithad for about 175K AMex

Eithad:
Jfk-AUH "F" -117,500 + $179
AUH-JNB "J" 76,000+ 132

AA
JFK-AUH "F"  110,000 (something like that)
AUH-JNB "J"  65,000 (something Like that)
I happen to have a ton of MR Vs not so many AA
But thought that its allot of miles either way

Yes well its first class on a routing that needs to be broken into 2 so it'll cost a lot.
Did you try calling EY?
