This was in March.
Seems like the beginning of October is low to mid 60's so it should be pretty nice.

I love Zurich. But that's probably because I have family there..

Tentatively planning a trip for this winter and looking at SYD-BKK, I could either route through SIN and try to find SQ R space before that becomes even more scarce with the cabin redesign or book TG F direct and take advantage of UA's phenomenal 40k redemption on that route before that gets devalued.
Thoughts?

do the 40k UA option.
how about check if there is availability on both and that might help your decision

Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

TG will definitely have availability, I would try to work around SQ availability if I can.

I second that suggestion (though it's just based on what I read rather than personal experience). Sounds like much better bang for the buck.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Definitely a better value, it's a great product, half the price and a direct flight; but SQ R is SQ R....

Is SQ R going away like UA bargain SYD-BKK F redemption is?

It's going to get a lot harder to find award space when the reconfiguration happens.

A lot harder vs. Gone forever (and bang for buck).

I know that Singapore is 12,500 miles on United. Alaska is also 12,500 , plus you get a free stopover.
