No, only economy. Domestic the upgrade from basic is usually worth it for this, depending on total ticket price. (~40 per direction)

Depends which airline. United allows for a fee (it's $99 per flight for international, not sure about domestic, iirc, it's $49).

For one way tickets; rt is 199 and 99 respectively. Arguably better (considering other benefits) and easier (avoiding refund dept united.com/customercare) to go with economy, base ticket price dependent.

I’m looking to buy a yeshiva flight for my brother. I’m only booking him El Al. I found a flight on Qantas for 37800 points. The problem is I need to get him from Chicago to JFK to fly that. I can book him on the Delta morning ORD-JFK flight, but if it’s a separate ticket I would have to pay double bag fees. Is there a way to book this on one ticket so I don’t pay double fees or are separate bookings my best bet?

AA hasn't released any partner space that morning to JFK. So there is a 49800 Qantas point option, but it involves a LGA/JFK connection, which I'm not doing

There's no bag fees on the ELAL leg and a checked bag on domestic delta is just $35, just allow enough time for the connection in case first flight gets delayed. you can also TRY to check his bags all the way by showing your elal reservation to the check-in agent so he can just walk to the next gate when arriving in JFK

Air France for 19k on delta. Call virgin they should/may have it for less (15k?) but not online.
