Can I book this award?
CLE-ORD-CAK as a one way on United with any point currency?
CLE-PHL-CAK as a one way on US/AA with any point currency?

And if not, why not? What is the rule exactly?

That's called backtracking. Not allowed on award tickets.

Why not just do CLE-ORD-CLA or CLE-PHL-CAK for 9k Avios (4.5k each way)?
Even if United allowed it, their minimum would be 10k UA..

If you still want it as a "1 way", you can redeem A+ points (or UR for that matter) for travel.. Would probably be more points though..

I have tickets to DXB (well, actually AUH) but we're leaving Saturday night, 9/5.

Thinking about just going to Europe for Shabbos and leaving straight to DXB Sunday morning.  Any good redemption options for ~90k in F or ~75k in J?  Preferably using AA or AS or any UR transfer partners.  Other options are welcome too.  FRA, CDG, FCO, etc.  Any and all options welcome.

Ideally I'd like to get F on one of EK's A380s...

It's Labor Day weekend so things are probably tight but I'm willing to book pretty last minute since I have alternative plans anyway.

Whoops, should've posted here.  Sorry mods for the double post.

He wanted EK F
Ideally.. Though since it seems he is actually going to AUH, EY F would be a very comparable experience and IIRC, only 40k AA.

I'm flying EY F back so I'd like to try EK F on the way there, especially since we're starting the trip in Dubai.  A lot of the earlier flights I'm finding for Sunday are on the 777.

Still, LHR is an option but possible with the award allotment I'm trying to work with?

40K AA for the flight.

Whats the best way to book from Reno to Kiev (Uman)? Must be refundable though.
