I'm not arguing about availability. I was simply pointing out that in the case of your screenshot AB wouldn't show up unless there was availability for your entire itinerary on AB.
If all the boxes are checked there isnt a single segment that is AB but AB shows up as an option. AY shows up as an option as well and there are AY flights either part or all of the way.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Depends on fare class, but usually SQ.

its coach. really my question is more of which amex transfer partner is the easiest to find availability and to book with in general. not necessarily trying to get the most points. (I mainly fly domestic but am looking to go to israel in june)

I agree SQ is generally good but if you want them for Israel then if put them to ANA since they only charge 65k RT to Israel and are a MR and Starwood Partner

Looking for options for BKK or CNX back to East Coast of the US, or vice versa.  Flying CX via HKG one way and looking for another option the other.  EK via DXB is one but the flights don't work.  What else is there that has decent availability in F or J?  SQ via SIN/FRA?  Anything else?

JAL via Japan?

I was thinking that, but my buddy doesn't want to do Japan or Korea.  Should've mentioned.

What issue does he have using those stopovers for a flight back to the US?

Why not?

He wants to spend 12-24 hours somewhere and those don't interest him.  I'll work on him though.  Which of those two options offer better availability, hard/soft products?
