EWR-LAX. I remember hearing that award tickets open up at the last minute. How many days before the flight so you give up and book a different way? Two days? Five days?

1) Sabre, bags, as clearly stated "May check baggage to".
2) What "new rule" do you speak of?
3) Makes no difference, if they interline, they can check the bags through.

#2, I looked it up, the released the hold on checking luggage to Europe.
#3 youre not right, there is a difference between if its ticketed on one ressy or not. Look it up.

On a side note, I am curious to hear from anyone else if they had success checking bags between BA & EK. From the research I did it didnt look like you can.

Do plan B
I would have preferred using less miles on a coach, nonstop. Plan B is double miles for business.

More important, if I were to go for plan B, what do I do if it doesn't come through? I don't want to be stuck with a long stopover in coach.

Why stopover? If youre willing to fly coach then plan B is for sure something to do

The options are long stopovers in coach for 25k or a short stopover in F for 5Ok. If plan b doesn't pull through, then I'll be stuck with the 3 hr stopover in coach.

Keep on checking, if you have a United CC linked to your account make sure youre logged in before searching.. If you can leave from JFK try aa.com same 12.5k rate or maybe even Delta if youre lucky

Book w AC. Small charge for adding an infant + only 55k ow in J & no yq
Just booked with AC and called to add infant (waited for 40 min on hold and both times the agent put me on hold for "2 min" it took >10).
Was very surprised to have to pay $100CAD + taxes $77USD. Not that it's a huge deal, but I was always under the impression that the $100 AC is flat rate.

When you pay $100 with AC for your infant they are considered a lap child business passenger & they will get 2 bags 70lbs ea. Hope this is clear enough
You are right as per UA website. However the email that i got from AC says that the infant gets 1 bag up to 99lb. And that a 2nd bag would be "411.10GBP + taxes"

Link?
What if i take that email with to the airport? I'll have AC refund me any cost incurred in buying an extra suitcase in the airport and checking an extra piece.  ;D
Either way, I much prefer 2 X 70lb than 1 X 99lb. Anyone have PE that was allowed 2 X 70lb for infant?
