Looking to book BOS-IST-TLV.
What's the best way to book?
UA is 42.5k/80k + $11.
A3 appears to be 40k/55k, but what are the taxes? Is there YQ?

I think there will be prohibitive YQ with ANA, Aeroplan and Singapore, right?

Thanks.

No YQ on Aeroplan.

Only 40k OW + same $11.2 that UA charges.

Thank you both. So, for Y, 40k OW booked on AC.
I now realize that A3 charges YQ (or other surcharges), based on Dan's post: http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/80746.

What does AC charge for J? Looks like same as UA (82.5k). Is that correct?

Correct. Or you can do SQ for 57.5k + YQ

Yep. 82.5k in J or 57.5 on SQ but you'll need to call about YQ because they do charge.

Asking for a relative - what's the best way to get to Israel using AA miles? They prefer nonstop.

TY

Well, I've been looking at this question for a while, and I've concluded that there is no easy way.
There's definitely no nonstop US to Israel on AA or OW anymore.
There's reasonable availability to fly US (e.g. BOS or JFK or MIA) to CDG via AA, but I haven't yet found a way to get from CDG to TLV on AA.
Iberia via Madrid and AB via Berlin seem like good options but I haven't yet found availability.
The other option, if they really want to fly NS, would be to sell the AA miles and buy an El Al or United revenue ticket, chas v'shalom.

AA doesn't fly direct to Israel.
Thanks for the info!
Is there any way to have a stopover in the US? Or only in Europe?

No stopover in the US is doable because the only airlines flying US-ISR direct are UA/AC/DL which don't pair up with AA.
