Probably United in terms of availability, but hurry to book before Oct 6th
PHL or EWR to SLC RT?
DL sometimes can be under 12.5k ow
They're the only airline that flies direct and might be under 12.5k.
otherwise everyone else is 25K rt

If you don't mind a stop, Southwest is quite possibly the cheapest mileage wise.

I'm still working on my trip to Hawaii at the end of January.
I realize I have even more reading to do, but I've learned a thing or 2 so far.

Since there are no business saver awards for the days I want to travel.
How about: I book with Singapore on United for random days that have business saver space.  Then, closer to my travel dates, when/if saver space opens up, I change the ticket date with Singapore for $20 to the dates I want. If nothing opens up, I cancel and redeposit the miles for $30.
Would this work? a) Is this technically feasible?  b) Is united likely to have saver biz available closer to the travel dates?

Is there something I can book as a backup that won't cost too much to cancel if the Singapore tickets come through?
Or should I abandon this plan and try Plan B on united?

a) yes
b) 'likely'? no. but more likely then now.

You can put DL tickets on hold for awile with KE for free.
It depends on how much you value your united miles.

Thanks for responding.
sorry: KE?
I don't think there are tickets on delta at saver-type rates either, will it still be available on KE? Should I just fly Delta instead of trying to get onto United?
I don't mind spending 80K UA on a biz seat to Hawaii.  The coach fare is almost $900.
I'm looking for 3 seats, BTW. Does that change things drastically?

Korean.
Delta usually charges a fortune for J to HI, United plan B is probably a better option.
yes, 3 seats will be exceptionally tough to find business class saver.

idk if plan B will even work for 3 seats, i'm not so familiar with plan B

As you were already told: cash or cash equivalents.
As in 12,733 UR when booking through Chase with a Sapphire Reserve.

If you're using cash, use your Barclay Arrival card or the SR, where you get to use your travel credits.

Not sure if right thread to post, correct me if it's wrong.

I have about ~80k SPG and 28k United miles. Would like to book 2 rt tickets to Switzerland Nov. 6-13. There are plenty of economy saver awards on United. What's the best way to book? Transfer to United? Is there any other airlines in this alliance that have better rates than 30k one way? Or any other alliances I could transfer to that flies to Zurich?

Thanks!
