If showing availability on Alaska then call JAL? Would JAL put the ticket on "hold" awaiting the miles to be transferred from SPG?
They can hold the award.
not sure if it'll be long enough for the SPG xfer to complete

best way to book the following:

yyz-nyc (ideally EWR)
stay for a weekend
nyc-tlv (direct)
tlv-yyz (direct)

business class is preferred, but open to premium/coach.  I have 250K united, 450K UR and 100K SPG.  Any thoughts on the best way to search/book this?

Sure why not?
Tickets are usually priced by region and CPT and JNB are in the same region

Think SQ and paying $100 for the weekend stopover, but good luck finding non-stop availability.

After waiting forever they JAL insisted that they cannot hold Emirates as they have to take the miles out at the same time...Huca? or they really cant do it?
