Pax booked on Delta in Basic Economy so no seat selection. Seat options looking pretty bad.

Is it possible to upgrade the ticket to regular fare class? Or purchase seats?

You should be able to just purchase seats directly with Delta online.

Nothing doing, it's stating seats assigned at check-in and no options to click. Called and was told the same. I was pretty sure two weeks ago they were giving me the option to purchase seats. Maybe that's only during booking or perhaps something changed.

Any way to book domestic UA >1,500 miles for less than 12.5k? If it's possible with a RT that's fine too.

Looking at the following flights all on the same day:

SW 64000 (would pull from UR) on 737-7
Delta 80,000 (would pull from amex plat) coach -would have to pay $150 for luggage round trip ERJ 175
Avios 132000 (sitting in the avios account) in biz class to get free bags on ERJ 175
avios 66000 (sitting in avios account) in coach would have to pay $150 for luggage round trip on ERJ 175

I could use amex travel credit for the baggage fee. Or I could save it for another flight.
Flight is 2.5 hours.
Flight is with 2 young children.

What's the best way to book if want to fly to TLV but wouldn't mind to visit two european cities on the way out like ZRH and BUD ? Sounds like much cheaper to fly first to LHR then go to ZRH then BUD then continue to TLV, thoughts?
