Applied 3 weeks ago via flyertalk.  When I called to activate, they told me 80k.  Havent got the points yet though.

Some people don't have the head for SM. For instance I recommended the 80K link to a very casual older traveler because I knew he wouldn't actually follow through and send the SM.

True it is easier to just use the 80k link, but for those unsure what they will get, just SM.
