Is the way to pay for someone to call in and just pay their account number?

Does an outstanding balance need to be on the account, or can you overpay?

You can definitely overpay. Haven't used payment over the phone so can't comment on that. I did only online payments

He called 18003310500 and was able to process a payment through the automated system

I recall hitting a dead end when trying to use the automated phone system to make a payment to an account that already had a credit balance, but I was able to pay on the web site.
