I asked this up thread about a year ago but didn't find a clear answer yet. Is there anyone here who connected through AUH / DOH /DXB with an Israeli passport, or know of someone who did? Most answered I'm getting from people are that it SHOULD be OK, or they don't see an issue. But looking for someone with experience

Dont think its an issue at all. Nobody in the Gulf really cares about Israeli Passports. Even the Kuwait saga was just pretend politics

On Etihad its showing availability if I break the ticket into segments Jfk-AUH F class and AUH-JNB-J class in business. It wont show anything as one. Can I still book it thru Asiana for 80K?

I have an overnight layover in AUH, flying F on AA miles, will Etihad pay for my stay at the in-airport hotel?

This is from their website

http://www.etihad.com/en-us/faqs/

Does Etihad offer accommodation for guests on long transit?
We offer complimentary accommodation services for eligible guests connecting to and from Abu Dhabi International Airport, depending on the fare and route you purchased.

The following guests with a transit time between 8 to 24 hours in Abu Dhabi may request for this service (terms and conditions apply):

First and Business Class guests holding a confirmed booking.
Economy Class guests on certain pre-approved routes only, subject to restrictions.
This applies to the first scheduled connecting Etihad flight from Abu Dhabi.

If you require a visa to enter the UAE, requests must be made no later than 5 days before departure. If you do not require a visa to enter the UAE, requests can be made 48 hours before departure.

Please contact us or your travel agent to know more or confirm whether this service is available for your journey.

pretty sure the T&C explicitly exclude award redemptions. I submitted the form on an AA award booking in F with an overnight layover (about 21 hrs) and was told ticket not eligible.

they should be able to the problem is likely that at least IME online it doesn't show mixed class availability

Does it make sense that I see guest business available on Etihad site, as well as on expert flyer, but AA call center does not see it? (They only see the economy seats)
